Our Clergy

Rabbi Josh Strom was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, the younger of two sons born to Rabbi Elliot and Susan Strom. He grew up very connected to synagogue life, NFTY’s Pennsylvania Area Region, and URJ Camp Harlam in the Pocono Mountains, having spent virtually every summer there between 1988 and 2004. After graduating magna cum laude from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York in 2002 with a BA in English, Rabbi Strom spent a year working in a nearby congregation, and was accepted into rabbinical school at the Hebrew Union College. He was ordained as a Reform rabbi in May of 2008 and served Temple Shaaray Tefila of Manhattan as Assistant and then Associate Rabbi for seven years, following four years as a teacher and rabbinic intern. Beginning the summer of 2015, Rabbi Strom was the solo rabbi for Congregation B’nai Yisrael in Armonk, New York, where he served for nine years. Before coming to Temple B’nai Chaim as rabbi of this wonderful and exciting new partnership, he had been the Director of Jewish Experiences at the Stamford JCC and sole clergy for the Center Avenue Synagogue of Fort Lee, New Jersey. Rabbi Strom lives in White Plains with his wife Tali, and their three sons – Jonah, Gabriel, and Caleb. He enjoys music of all kinds and sports of most kinds!
