Stamford JCC and Temple B’nai Chaim Name Rabbi Josh Strom to Expanded Leadership Role Across Both Organizations
Appointment follows a national search and advances a new regional model for Jewish community engagement
STAMFORD and WILTON, Conn., [June 9, 2026]. The Stamford JCC and Temple B’nai Chaim today announced that Rabbi Josh Strom has been named lead congregational Rabbi of Temple B’nai Chaim and will continue to lead Jewish Experiences across the Stamford JCC. The appointment follows a national search, takes effect in September 2026, and is part of the strategic partnership the two organizations formed in December 2025.
In the expanded role, Rabbi Strom will guide congregational life at Temple B’nai Chaim in Wilton while continuing to direct the Jewish Experiences portfolio at the Stamford JCC, which spans learning, holidays, culture, and community programming. He has led that work at the JCC for the past two years.
The appointment reflects how the partnership is built to work. By combining operations, the two organizations expand their leadership capacity and the range of programs available to members of both. A single membership now reaches offerings across the JCC and Temple B’nai Chaim, from early childhood, fitness, arts, and camp to worship, learning, and lifecycle support.
“As this organization grows, the depth we add reaches our members directly,” said Marshall Kurland, Chief Executive Officer of the Stamford JCC. “Rabbi Strom is the first visible piece of that. Most of our members come for music, arts, culture, early childhood, fitness, and community, and our job is to keep widening what they can engage with. We meet people where they are. We want to be something for everyone, and everything to those who need us most.”

Rabbi Strom’s appointment is the first of several leadership and program steps planned as the partnership matures. The organizations said members can expect additional shared roles and expanded programming in music, arts, culture, early learning, and family life over the coming year.
