More information about the speakers …
- Lisa Oren
Lisa earned a master’s degree in social work over thirty years ago and currently has a private psychotherapy practice in Ridgefield. She works with individual adults and teens as well as with couples to address the challenges that life brings and learning strategies to manage them. Lisa also works part time with neurodiverse young adults in the Norwalk Public School Special Education transition programs. Lisa believes strongly that we can all strengthen our capacity to manage life’s ever changing landscape. Lisa also previously taught 7th grade religious school on Sundays at TBC for several years and was an early education teacher for 5 years prior. Lisa and her husband have two adult daughters who have launched and are building their own futures, but their home is what she has coined an “open nest” and they are welcome to visit, stay, get some TLC and some comfort food any time. - Julia Saunders
Julia has a master’s degree in School Counseling and has been a middle school counselor in the public schools for the last 18 years. Prior to that, she worked at a psychiatric hospital with adolescents in crisis. Julia thoroughly enjoys working with preteens, teens, and their families and her favorite part of spending time with middle schoolers is seeing their enthusiasm and incredible capacity for growth. Julia currently has two teenagers- a 15 year old and an 18 year old who simultaneously give her naches and grey hair. - Rachel Weldon
