June 13: Interim Rabbi Update

TBC has submitted its application for an interim rabbi to the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR), and we have already started to receive resumes!

An interim rabbi – sometimes referred as a “transitional rabbi” or a “rabbi between rabbis” – generally comes with a defined, short-term contract. In our case we are seeking someone to fill the position for one year.  Interim rabbis are specially trained for their unique role by CCAR or another recognized organization.

TBC’s interim rabbi will handle traditional, day-to-day rabbinic and pastoral functions, provide us with needed continuity, and help us sustain the excellence and effectiveness of our existing programs and services.  This appointment will also give us the time we need to engage in thoughtful planning and discussion and will help us ensure a successful recruitment for our new, permanent rabbi.
